NSSA logo

It’s time for NSSA member clubs to renew your membership and register your shoots for 2020.

2020 is going to be a great year! We will be announcing new benefits for member clubs throughout the year and releasing new resources to help your club be successful.

NEW THIS YEAR: Join the National Shooting Sports Foundation for only $25.

NSSF is our shooting industry trade association and represents all shooting sports through an active government relations team. NSSF members can also access many tools and resources, like shooter recruitment initiatives, research, events and much more. Membership is regularly $100, but if you join through NSSA, you can enjoy all member benefits for only $25. Learn more about this new opportunity here.

We’re asking you to renew now and register your 2020 shoots soon to take advantage of two opportunities:

  • Shoots registered by December 10 will be listed in the February issue of Clay Target Nation magazine.
  • Clubs renewing by December 14 will be entered into our Club Membership Renewal Drawing.

To have your registered shoots listed in the February 2020 issue of Clay Target Nation, two steps are required by December 10:

Question of the Week: NSC Memberships and Rates

“Do you offer special shooting packages or memberships at the National Shooting Complex for people who live near San Antonio?”

The National Shooting Complex is open to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays and we do offer memberships. NSC members are provided Wednesdays and Fridays as additional days of shooting and also receive discounted rates on targets in all disciplines. Skeet, sporting clays, 5-stand, and trap are offered. NSSA and NSCA members who live outside a 75-mile radius of the complex are extended NSC membership benefits for both days of shooting and target rates.

You can find a membership flyer, application, and other information on our Membership and Rates page.

Question of the Week: Membership Packet

“I joined and paid my membership dues at my first shoot several weeks ago. Why haven’t I received my membership packet yet? Since I don’t have my membership number yet, can I participate in another shoot?”

When members join at a shoot, clubs turn in the registration and dues with their shoot report. Clubs have two weeks after a shoot is completed to submit the shoot and pay the fees and dues collected. After that, the new member registration is processed and the packet is sent out. So, it can take several weeks for you to receive it.

One thing you can do is check the Skeet Late Shoots and the Sporting Clays Late Shoots lists to see if the club is late reporting the shoot. But if you’re concerned about the delay, we’re glad to check on it for you. Just call us at 210-688-3371, ext. 962 (or extension 961 for sporting clays).

If you plan to shoot another registered event when you haven’t received your membership card yet, call us a day or two before the shoot. If the shoot has been reported and your membership is processed, we can tell you the number. Otherwise, on your next shoot registration, in the place of “Member Number,” you can note “applied for.”

Question of the Week: Complimentary Limited Membership

“How do I join with a Complimentary Limited Membership?”

First, here’s what NOT to do: DON’T complete a form and send it in yourself.

If you’ve never previously been a member, a Complimentary Limited Membership allows you to compete in registered tournaments during the current year. When you go to your first registered skeet or sporting clays shoot, the club will complete a CLM form and submit it with their shoot report. That’s the only way a CLM form is accepted: when it is submitted by the club with a shoot report.

The CLM is effective from the time you sign up at your first shoot until the end of the shoot year. While you don’t have voting privileges, you get many of the benefits of a paid membership, including the ability to compete in registered tournaments, a membership card, rule book, classification card, monthly digital magazines, and eligibility for SIAI gun floater insurance.
